Miley Cryus is on the up-rise amongst social media.
Her new album "Bangerz" seemed to have taken a new toll in the style of music Miley has decided to pursue. Although the new album seems to be provocative and a complete 180 from the old Hannah Montana, it is a new found sense of independence.
This article by Kyle Fowle was quite interesting as it dug into Cyrus' songs to explain their meaning and although the lyrics aren't the greatest- the background music and features make it a powerful song proving the independence she craves.
The blogger hits on several songs off of Mileys CD to show the themes that she has throughout her album. He hits on a song called "FU". To me- looking at the lyrics it just looked like it was going to be awful.
Fowle states, "when sung by Cyrus atop a heavy dubstep wobble, it feels biting and ferocious."
I decided to listen to the song and I happened to agree, which is weird. I am not really into this music, but besides the catchy beat, I am able to see what Fowle means when he states,
"Bangerz is a personal, idiosyncratic effort that finds equal rewards in twentysomething indulgence and inspiring "be yourself" mantras." (Fowle).
I decided to listen to the other songs that Fowle shared that he said showed a message of empowerment.
Although it is not my style of music, I enjoyed learning about what is really behind Miley's tunes!
