Although this article is short,
I
found it very interesting that we are spending so much money to go look at the
curve of the earth. It would be a pretty awesome adventure, however, they make
it seem like $75,000 is chump-change. The way they are planning to fly this
pressurized gondola is explained as followed: a high-tech balloon, large enough
for eight passengers to walk around, fitted with luxuries like a bar and
windows that offer great view. If advertised well, it may be a success. In my
opinion, I don’t feel $75,000 should be money put into this. Why spend that
amount on one, four-hour balloon ride, when you can travel the world and
actually see what’s beyond that curve of the earth. Why put in all of these
luxuries? The reason people would be flying up there would be to see the beauty
of God’s creation at a different level, not to enjoy luxuries. I think it will
be interesting to see how this pans out. The idea is great, I just don’t know
if it’s the best place to be spending that much money. I believe there could be
a more money-efficient and less luxurious way.

Kelsey, I have to agree with you about the ridiculous amount of money that is necessary to make this trip. While some people have this sort of money to spend, I would also prefer travel over this small trip to the edge of space. Added bonus of traveling is that it’s cheaper too.
